Medicine Hat Ringette Association Coaching Excellence Program
The Medicine Hat Ringette Association (MHRA) is committed to the future of the sport and developing excellent athletes. The new Coaching Excellence program will focus on enhanced coaching mentorship and collaboration. All of the coaches in the MHRA are volunteers and the organization wants to encourage utilization of the many resources available, to make every coach and team successful.
It all starts at the beginning, which is why in 2021/2022 the senior coaching team from the U19 division will coach the U10 division with help from new parent coaches. The MHRA senior coaches have taken teams to multiple provincial, western Canadian championships and Alberta Winter Games. They have dedicated countless hours to learning coaching techniques, developing effective practice plans and creating unique ringette game strategies. The overall purpose will be to mentor and develop new coaches for U10(not just coach the team), all coaches who step up will have lots of support. These steadfast leaders will help develop the youngest team and mentor new coaches for the future.
Succession planning is an integral part of successfully maintaining quality coaching and athletes development. Coaching mentorship will be provided to all ringette coaches that are looking for advice, practice assistance or enhanced game planning. There are many things that can be learned from our team leaders, all coaches will be encouraged to exchange ideas, attend each other's practices and network with coaches past and present.
The MHRA wants to see our athletes continue to grow and learn from our community leaders. Capturing the knowledge from our senior coaches and encouraging collaboration between age divisions will not only provide the athletes access to diverse learning methods, but also create a positive coaching experience for our parent volunteers and future coaches!!
